Monte burned

It's tough to know what larger significance, if any, to ascribe to Monte Solberg's fake brouhaha-inducing "Paul Martin Luther King" post. I'll state my narrow opinion right off the top and call it cringe-inducingly bad — badly conceived, badly written and badly followed up. I do sincerely applaud Mr Solberg for laying his soul bare for blogospheric tasting and judgement, but on a personal level he only confirms my worst suspicions when he publishes things like: "Oh brother, these guys really are the sucky babies we thought they were."

But hey, at least he makes me laugh (derisively) as he's confirming my worst suspicions:

Hey I know that satire can be dangerous because not everyone will get it, but if you have to spell out what you are doing then it just becomes wizened up dry criticism. That is just way too boring.

Good grief: a little over a month online and already he's full to the gills of his own Kool-Aid. The Paul Martin Luther King trope was about as dangerous as the Royal Canadian Air Farce, and nowhere near as entertaining. I'll root for Blogger Monte simply because he's slightly less ridiculous than the people whose monocles hit the ground in mock disgust,  but I wouldn't mind if all involved just disappeared, either.

(Mercifully intelligent discussion on the topic is here.)
