Shut down Bountiful

The Star today says that the polygamists in Bountiful should be prosecuted, "and let the courts decide if the law stands up." I couldn't possibly agree more. There's no point in having this law against polygamy if our various attorneys general are unwilling even to attempt enforcement. They're afraid the polygamists might win a Charter challenge. Well I hope they're wrong, but there's only one way to find out. We should either scrap the law or charge these people and see how it plays out.

These polygamists are not nice people. If the law outlawing their way of life doesn't hold up, then I suggest we go after them for denying children a proper education, for trafficking children across North America to populate various polygamous communities, and oh yes, for having sex with minors. It's all right here. I'm pretty sure the Charter won't guarantee them those freedoms.
